Coaching, Licensing & Club Open Days


Suzy is a qualified clay target coach. Australian Competition Level in the Sports Commissions National Coach Accreditation Scheme She is one of only a few people in Australia with an International Sports Shooting Federation Shotgun Coaching License and the only one with a B+ license.
Suzy has represented Australia in six disciplines of clay target shooting – Olympic Trap, Olympic Skeet, Olympic Double Trap, Down the Line, Universal Trench and American Skeet.
Suzy has won Olympic, Commonwealth, World, Oceania and National Titles.

Suzy has coached National Teams at ISSF World Cup and Junior ISSF World Cups,  World University Shooting Championships, World University Games and ISSF and DTL Oceania Championships.

Suzy was employed from 2013-2020 as the Head Coach and National Coaching Director for the Australian Clay Target Association. As part of her role with the ACTA carries out  Coaching Accreditation and also developing shooters through the ACTA Academy.

Coaching can be one on one or up to 12 participants at a time. Video analysis is used for each coaching session to enhance the feedback to clients. You might be a beginner who simply wants to get a head start in the sport or you are an established shooter who just wants to hit a few more targets or improve your technique or even the mental side of your game; then private coaching with Suzy Balogh may be for you.

Suzy has also started online coaching for remote and international shooters.

As National Coach for the ACTA Suzy held many National, State and Club coaching clinics for members. Adults and juniors, World Champions to AA  to C graders.

If you would like to see the members of your club progress their technical shooting skills and competition performance then book a session at your club with Suzy. These days cover on range shooting and relevant classroom sessions.

A day on the range with licensed shooters (up to 18 shooters /day)  starting from $2000 + GST

Suzy is one of the most experienced try shooting coaches in Australia. Having helped 10’s of thousands of people through their first shooting experience.

If your having a club open day or a try shooting day – Suzy is ideal to assist with your beginners. She can assist with planning for the day and with media promotion for the day and she can advise on how to retain new members after the open day.

A day on the range with try shooters (however many you can throw at her)  $1500 + GST

Travel and accommodation additional. Travel Day @ $500/day

Suzy can provide firearms, shooting jackets etc. $500/day + freight

Online coaching is designed to assist those shooters who cant get to Suzy for face to face coaching sessions … THESE are the next best thing.


Submit footage for video analysis by Suzy. These are submitted in 15 minute units  into your own designated private dropbox folder.  The 15 minute unit can be multiple files.

ZOOM session

You and Suzy book in a Zoom video session = you get to see each other face to face (over the internet) and at the same time see the same footage


Submit what your wanting to get reviewed in the session and what goals your trying to achieve.


15 minutes or less of footage for review and analysis        $75/ unit incl. GST

30 minute or less  Zoom coaching session  units                 $100 incl. GST

Sydney International Shooting Center offers licensing courses and here is our step-by-step guide to get your firearms license:

  1. Contact the NSW Firearms Registry (1300 362 562)
    Then fill in the Personal Firearms License Application Form as well as the Genuine Reason Form for Sport/Target Shooting and/or Recreational Hunting/Vermin Control.
  2. Join a Target Shooting Club
    In order to satisfy your ‘genuine reason’ for registration, shooters must join a target shooting club.
  3. Complete the Firearms Safety Training Course 
    Shooters must also complete Firearms Safety Training. Rifle shooters can book their course at Sydney International Shooting Centre.
  4. Lodge your Application 
    Finally, submit your completed application forms to the NSW Firearms Registry and it will generally take 28 days for issue of licence.
